SSAFA

SSAFA is the oldest national tri-service military charity, founded in 1885. Our experience has helped us understand the unique demands of service life. We were established to support military families as well as serving personnel and veterans; this remains at the heart of our work.

Every year, with the help of our supporters and dedicated volunteers, SSAFA helps over 67,000 people. Our vision is for our Armed Forces (both regulars and reserves), veterans and their families to know they can depend on SSAFA for support now, and for the rest of their lives.

Beneficiaries range from veterans who served in the Second World War, to young soldiers who served in the recent Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.
