Tania Young, Corporate Responsibility Manager, BT:
"The Hands on Payroll Giving team have supported, EE and now BT for over 20 years with their expert advice and services. Our partnership has had a hugely positive impact on how we have developed our Payroll Giving scheme and it reflects our commitment to our employees and the good causes they support.
The set-up is simple and they successfully managed the transition of over 10,000 BT payroll givers. They did this in an efficient manner, against increasing governance and scrutiny on employee data privacy and protection.
Together we have won awards and continuously look at how we can evolve and improve the scheme, to gain new donors. Our employees love how simple the scheme is to use, regularly donating over £2.5m a year to charities they care about."

Our relationship with EE lead to an introduction to BT when the brands merged. Whilst BT had a successful scheme and used a different provider, the scheme needed modernising. BT chose to work with us to help manage and deliver these changes.
Due to BT's stringent security requirements, we underwent a full digital and data protection review. This helped align our systems and policies ahead of GDPR legislation coming into force. Close contact with BT's data protection teams ensures we remain fully compliant and future proofed.

Experian is the world's leading global information services company. During life's big we empower consumers and our clients to manage their data with confidence. They help individuals to take financial control and access financial services, businesses to make smarter decisions and thrive, lenders to lend more responsibly, and organisations to prevent identity fraud and crime.
Payroll Giving has been available at Experian since 2004 with engagement lead by the Community Involvement Team.
With a workforce largely office based, promoting Payroll Giving through internal channels was easy, but with lots of Community Involvement projects vying for attention, engaging employees with this scheme became increasingly difficult.
To raise the profile of Payroll Giving across Experian, match funding for the scheme was introduced. To add to this, Hands On Payroll Giving representatives were invited to speak to employees face to face ensuring key messages weren't lost in translation. This was delivered with full management support and prize draw incentives for colleagues.
Hands On Payroll Giving also developed an interactive online info hub to demonstrate match funding, and make it easier to join.
Participation rose from 5% to 30%, securing the new Diamond Quality Mark this year.
Since 2013, over £628,988.28 has been donated by colleagues, with a further £66,000 matched by Experian.
Experian were awarded ‘Best Promotional Partnership (Medium Employer) at the National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards in 2017, and Jan Barrartt was Highly Commended in the category Best Corporate Champion.
Beverly Hodson, Benefits Manager:

Colleagues at Morrisons are committed to donating to charities of their choice and we've managed to maintain a consistent high level of payroll giving. Our new Flexible benefits platform (hosted by Thomsons Online Benefits) makes it easier for colleagues to make and change their selections."

Morrisons adopted Payroll Giving and migrated existing givers from Safeway. Hands On Payroll Giving engages with colleagues across the business to communicate the benefits of the scheme. With the introduction of Flexible Benefits the aim was to integrate Payroll Giving into the online system.
Morrisons have a base of over 6,500 colleagues donating through the scheme each month; these deductions and information needed to be transferred to the system. The preference was for a Single Sign On portal to manage all giving and charity selection through a Flexible Benefits platform. This had not previously been successfully delivered in the UK.
Working with Morrisons, Hands On Payroll Giving linked with Thomsons and developed a system to allow information in the Flexible Benefits portal to transfer and locate colleagues' Payroll Giving donations. This included sending deduction information automatically into Morrisons payroll system.
The UK's first Flexible Benefits portal that shows Payroll Giving deduction and allows the management of donations.
Hands On awareness visits that promote full Flexible Benefits package to all colleagues.
Higher online engagement of Flexible Benefits, and increased numbers of colleagues managing their own Payroll Giving.
Morrisons commended for dedication to Payroll Giving at Chattered Institute of Payroll Professionals awards 2015.
